 The Teachings of the 4 Directions is pivotal to the education of every human being. The Cree teachings from the sacred Grandmother teachings are focused on what we need to include in our daily thoughts and actions to conduct ourselves in a "good way". The 4 Grandfather teachings sit alongside the 4 Grandmother teachings because one does not have more value than another. Always working in balance. Duality and reciprocity.

I'd like to open this message by acknowledging that NVIT is located on the un-ceded lands of the Coast Salish, Nlaka'pamux', and Sylix Peoples. Specifically, the shared territories of the Coldwater, Shackan, Nooaitch, Lower Nicola, Upper Nicola First Nations (NVIT's 5 founding communities, circa 1983), and the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səlílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh), and xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nations.
